Authorities’ cooperation to check the site licensing
Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority briefed that on 10 August 2015 the Geological Research Program’s implementation was checked by the experts of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority and the Baranya County Government Office, Technical Admisson and Consumer Protection Department, Mining Division (BMK BO) on an official visit.

Paks II’s interactive information truck met thousands of festivalgoers
MVM Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Development Ltd’s „Energy Inside Us” interactive information truck reached an outstanding result in visitor numbers during the first half of this year’s festival season. A couple hundred visitors per day, and a few thousand visitors in all visited the renewed exhibition during our traditional festival season.
„Energy Inside Us!” at VOLT festival as well
The information truck is going to visit the big summer festivals in 2015 as well. The interactive exhibition can be visited at VOLT festival between 1 and 4 July.
The documents of the public hearing (held on 7 May 2015) became public
The Baranya County Government Office held a public hearing as part of the environmental licensing process on 7 May 2015 in Paks, and its record was published by the competent authority.

The exploratory drillings has begun
As part of the site investigation and evaluation program (necessary for the site license application), the first geological drilling of the Geological Research Program has started on 1 May 2015.
Public hearing held in Paks commanded great interest
A high number of interested members of the public attended the public hearing in Paks, which forms part of the environmental permitting process, on 7 May 2015.
Preparation of the new nuclear power plant units progresses as planned
Under the general contractor agreement signed in December 2014, the design of the two new reactor units at Paks and the preparation of their construction began in January 2015. As part of this, it is necessary, among other things, to adapt the designs of the new units to the inherent conditions of the site and to prepare the licence applications
MVM Paks II Ltd. held 40 public forums on Environmental Impact Study
MVM Paks II Ltd. launched a series of public forums in connection with environmental permitting in Kalocsa on 17 March. The series of events affecting 40 municipalities around Paks was ended in Bikács on 23 April. One additional public forum will be held in Paks on 4 May and an official public hearing on 7 May.
Euratom Supply Agency has signed the fuel supply contract
The Euratom Supply Agency (ESA) of the European Commission has approvingly signed the nuclear fuel supply contract concluded by Hungary and Russia. With this, after constructive negotiations between the Hungarian Government and the European Commission, consultations on fuel supply to the new Paks units had been closed; the European Commission notified the Hungarian Government of this in its official letter on Monday.
Public forums continue on the Paks side of the Danube
MVM Paks II Ltd. launched a series of public forums in 40 municipalities around Paks on 17 March 2015. The topics of the events include the current status of the project, the environmental permitting process, the Environmental Impact Statement and the public hearing to be held in Paks on 7 May. After 20 forums held on the Kalocsa side of the Danube, the series of events continues on the Paks side.
MVM Paks II. Ltd. is holding public forums
As part of the environmental permitting associated with the establishment of new nuclear power plant units, MVM Paks II. Ltd. is holding public forums between 17 March and 23 April. The residents of 40 municipalities in the vicinity of Paks will be informed about the current state of the project, the environmental permitting process, the Environmental Impact Assessment and the public hearing held in Paks, which will take place in the spring. After the presentations, it will be possible to express opinions and to ask questions.
Letter of intent by Hungary and Russia regarding the training of nuclear specialists
The Ministry of Human Resources and the Russian state-owned nuclear company, Rosatom, have signed a letter of intent regarding the training of nuclear specialists in Budapest.

Adaptation of the designs of the new units of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant to the requirements of the Paks site has commenced.
Contracts signed on implementation of new reactor units at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant
On 9 December 2014, MVM Paks II. Atomerőmű Fejlesztő Zrt. (MVM Paks II. Nuclear Reactor Development Closed Joint-Stock Company) and the Russian Joint-Stock Company Nizhny Novgorod Engineering Company Atomenergoproekt signed three implementation agreements for two new 1200 megawatt nuclear reactor units to be constructed at the Paks plant. The agreements formalise the engineering, procurement and construction parameters for the new units, conditions related to the support of their operation and maintenance, and details regarding fuel supply and the handling and storage of spent fuel elements. The Hungarian party has entered into a favourable agreement keeping within the financing resources available for the project.
MVM Paks II. Ltd. granted site assessment and evaluation permit
The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) has issued a site assessment and evaluation permit for the new nuclear power plant units to be established on the Paks site.
