The Nuclear Energy Agency promised professional support for the Paks II. project
János Süli informed the delegation of the Nuclear Energy Agency about the importance of the Paks investment, the preparatory works and the actualities. He highlighted, the director-general of OECD NEA reassured him: the organization will provide professional support during the implementation of the Paks II. project should the need arise.
William D. Magwood, following the meeting, emphasized that the Nuclear Energy Agency is working to ensure clean, reliable, long-term electricity generation. To do this, many countries have opted for a nuclear solution, and OECD NEA is willing to provide assistance in nuclear safety and waste management in these countries.
The Nuclear Energy Agency has been operating since 1958 in the field of nuclear safety, technology, science and law to facilitate cooperation and professional advancement among countries with advanced nuclear technology and infrastructure. Hungary has been a member of the Nuclear Energy Agency since 1996.
