Important announcements at the Paks Social Council’s session

Another session of the Paks Social Council took place, where János Lázár minister of the Prime Minister’s Office announced that János Süli will continue his work as a minister without portfolio responsible for the Paks II. project, and he also told the government will provide a 1,5 bn HUF worth of framework for regional development.

At the start of the session held on 13 April 2017 in Paks, János Süli mayor of Paks and co-chairman of the council welcomed the guests, members of the government, the region’s parliamentarians and the mayors of the 41 settlements next to the site.

Dr. Attila Aszódi government commissioner presented the main events of the Paks II. investment which happened since the last session, in the meantime he also highlighted there’s no EU obstacle in the way of the project. Following this János Lázár minister of the Prime Minister’s Office announced that Viktor Orbán prime minister asked János Süli to be the minister without portfolio responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the Paks II. project. The minister also told that the government will make 1,5 billion forint available for regional development in 2017.

At the press conference held after the session János Lázár, János Süli and Dr. Attila Aszódi summarized what has been said at the mayors’ briefing. The minister of the Prime Minister’s Office said János Süli is expected to make his ministerial oath on 2 May.
