The information truck of Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. had a rich last year: it hosted almost 60 thousand visitors in 2018. Besides visiting the major cities of Zala, Vas and Győr-Moson-Sopron counties and several Budapest districts, it also visited 8 summer festivals as well.

The information truck which had a renewed exterior and content in June 2017, started the previous year’s roadtrip in the county seat of Zala, Zalaegerszeg. The mobile display of Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. „brings home” the most important information  about the safe and climate friendly use of nuclear energy, the important role of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant in the domestic energy production, and the construction of the two new nuclear power plant units in a modern, interactive way.

In the first quarter of 2018, the vehicle visited the major towns and cities of Zala, Vas and Győr-Moson-Sopron counties, then – like in the previous years – it went on to attend summer festivals, and the Csaba Sausage Festival, then in the autumn-winter season, the truck was available to visit in Budapest districts. The mobile exhibition had almost 60 thousand visitors in 2018. The exhibition was asked to attend the Kaposvár Climate day and the PlayIT show in Budapest, but it also „came home” twice, which earned a record: at the Town Day of Paks, it hosted almost 1500 visitors.

Eight major domestic musical and cultural summer festivals were on the „schedule” in 2018. At these festivals, the Energy Island next to the truck also hosted the interested, where rest and relaxation programs, e.g. bean bags, hammocks, mobile phone chargers and games were available. The highest attendance was at Sziget, where the truck hosted almost 3500 people, while the daily peak was at VOLT, where the highest number of visitors was more than 700.

Another major milestone of the operation of the information truck is connected to 2018 as well. The truck earned the professional recognition last May at the Atomexpo Awards: it reached the finals in public communications at the international competition, where it received a degree. Nuclear communications professionals had the chance to visit the information truck last November during an international conference in Paks, organized jointly by WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators).
