The last public hearing took place in Belgrade
Following the greeting of the moderator and the leader of the Serbian party Aleksandar Vesic and introduction of the Serbian delegation, dr. Bálint Dobi representing the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture introduced the Hungarian delegation of experts and thanked the organizational work of the Serbian Ministry and Serbia’s participation in the international phase.
After dr. Zoltán Horváth, leader of the competent authority, the Baranya County Government Office introduced the rules and procedure of the licensing process, dr. Attila Aszóda, government commissioner for the maintenance of the performance of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant gave a lecture. He presented the Paks II. project, the environmental effects of the construction and operation of the new nuclear power plant units, the safety parameters, and the management of the radioactive waste and spent fuel.
During the later phase of the public hearing questions and opionins could be stated. Most of the questions were about the nuclear safety, effects on Danube and the future of the power supply.
With this ended the series of events in early November, during which the Hungarian delegation presented the environmental effects of the construction of the new nuclear power plant units to the European public in Croatia (Osijek), Austria (Vienna), Romania (Oradea, Timisoara, Bucharest), Ukraine (Kiev), Slovenia (Ljubljana), Germany (Munich) and Serbia (Belgrade), answering every question and listening to the audience’s opinion. The experiences gained during these events will be included in the closure of the authorization procedure, in the official decision.
