The employees of Paks II. donated more than a thousand pieces of high quality clothing for the organization working to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and underprivileged children
– During our campaigns we intend to react to real needs. We are searching for such organizations who are in direct contact with the underprivileged and are aware of their problems – explained István Mittler, the communications director of the project company during the donation, adding that their charity campaigns mainly focus on the project’s region.
– We are very glad this huge amount of donation was given to us. There are always families within our horizon where any support is desperately needed. We seek to help those who raise children, as it is our
main goal is for them not to starve, to freeze and to feel as little as possible about poverty – told Mrs Károlyné Feilinger, the chairman of the Tamási Caritas Association. She added, they give the clothing received from Paks II. Ltd. directly to the families in need and to the community workers and the Tamási Roma municipality.
István Mittler said that Paks II. Ltd. places great emphasis on charitable activities. They regularly organize blood donations with the local organization of the Hungarian Red Cross. Most recently at the end of November, fifty employees have given blood. Just a year ago, hundreds of gift packages were created by employees of the company for patients in the children's ward of the Balassa János County Hospital in Tolna County, wraping the gift packages for a week, filling them with books, board games and plush figures. In the spring, the employees of Paks II donated money for the needy clients of the Family Support Service of Paks Sub-regional Social Center. In the run-up to Christmas, the project company also joined a nationwide initiative where ministry staff and background personnel donate Christmas gifts to children living in orphanages around the country in accordance with the children's pre-written wishes.
