Chairman-CEO Gergely Jákli held a professional meeting in Budapest with Naoki Chigusa, the head of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). The CEO of WANO was informed about the current status of the project and the tasks for the near future. The parties agreed that more and more countries are realizing that without nuclear energy, climate protection goals cannot be met and that nuclear power plants are needed to guarantee national and global security of supply.

Paks II. Ltd. and WANO cooperate closely in the field of nuclear exchange of experience. WANO provides technical support and monitoring to nuclear power plant operators, identifying good practices and shortcomings in nuclear facilities through regular reviews. This exchange of experience is also useful during the design and construction phases, as it helps preventing unwanted incidents. This kind of exchange of experience was the focus of the last WANO workshop in Paks back in April.
