Paks II. Ltd. – as highlighted by Technical Director Gábor Kovács – hosts trainees mainly in technical areas, ie. in electrical, civil engineering and site investigation, nuclear, mechanical engineering (nuclear island) and mechanical engineering (conventional island) departments, but there are possibilities to have internship at supporting departments, for example human resources management, media relations or IT. Most trainees come from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Óbuda University, and they usually do their intership at Paks II. in the summer, but they can apply at different times as well.

– Our company employs young people as part of their internship, because we will be able to acquire such employees later who will know the nuclear power plant from the beginning of the investment, have a strong commitment to nuclear power and Paks II project, and through them, the project can become more widely known and accepted – highlighted the Technical Director. Gábor Kovács added: students with the appropriate theoretical knowledge and motivation are also a significant human resource for the company. Thus a career model opens up for young people to explore long-term, predictable opportunities.

In order to facilitate the integration and professional development of young people, the company also launched an orientation and mentoring program this year. Trainee period can be utilized more efficiently, and the mentoring program is an opportunity to motivate students to become part of Paks II. Ltd. The success of the trainee program is marked by the fact that the company has employees who were previously employed as trainees.
