Dr. Attila Aszódi, the government commissioner informed the interested about the current status of the investment, the environmental effects of the construction and operation of the new nuclear power plant units, and he also described the nuclear safety requirements and parameters during the public hearing on 28 September in Oradea and during the public hearing on 29 September in Timisoara as well.

Following the presentations all of the questions were answered. They were mostly about the handling of the radioactive waste and the spent fuel, the heat impact on Danube, and the nuclear safety. Another public hearing will be held in Bukarest in mid-October.
The international phase of the environmental approval will continue next week in Kiev.
