Hundreds of students attended the Paks II. lecture
First the government commissioner presented to the approx. 350 interested the Hungarian electricity system’s specifics, compared to foreign ones. Following this he spoke about the preludes, the role and the licensing processes of the Paks II. project. After speaking about the environmental licensing which is of great importance, he proceeded with the site licensing.
Dr. Attila Aszódi described the role of the site investigation and assessment, its process and its results, highlighting that according to the complex researches the Paks site is available for establishing new nuclear power plant units. It is evidenced too by receiving the site license from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority today – added the government commissioner.
At the end of his lecture, Dr. Attila Aszódi presented the main milestones of the several years of cooperation between the European Union and Hungary, emphasizing there isn’t any EU obstacle before the establishment of the new nuclear power plant units. Following his lecture the government commissioner answered every arised questions.
