The history of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant dates back to the sixties. In an intergovernmental agreement concluded in 1966, it was decided that a nuclear power plant would be built in Hungary. Construction began in 1974, and construction of unit 1 and 2 began this year. The four units were connected to the grid between 1982-87.

Founded in 1957 and operating as a public collection since 1992, the Film Archive is responsible for the preservation, research, restoration and publication of national film assets and all related documentation. The Film Archive has been operating as part of the National Film Institute since 1 January 2020.
