The European Commission has closed the infringement procedure

According to the European Commission’s decision, Hungary acted in accord with the EU’s public procurement requirements while signing the Hungarian-Russian intergovernmental agreement of establishing new Paks nuclear power plant units.

Paks II. project company submitted its site license application

The establishment of the new nuclear power plant units reached another milestone, since on 27 October 2016 the project company submitted its site license application to the competent authority, the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority.

Paks II. project received its environmental license

Baranya County Government Office, the competent authority of the environmental licensing process issued Paks II. project’s environmental license on 29 September 2016, which proves that the project fulfills the EU’s and Hungarian requirements of environmental protection and nature conservation.
