Dr. Attila Aszódi held a lecture about the actualities of the Paks II. investment on 30 March 2017 in the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, which was part of the event series organized by the Student Association of Energy.

Dr. Attila Aszódi government commissioner held an interesting lecture about the Paks II. project for about 100 pupils of the Vak Bottyán Elementary and Secondary School of Simontornya on 20 March 2017.

Dr. Attila Aszódi held a lecture for about 120 university students in Miskolc on 8 March 2017 about the actualities and importance of the Paks II. investment.

There was a public hearing as part of the site licensing process on 13 December 2016 in Paks, organized by the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority. The interested asked dozens of questions during the more than 3 hours long event, while the experts everything in great details.

The forum series has ended with Kalocsa on 5 December 2016 which informed the locals of the surrounding of the planned site of the new nuclear power plant units on the site licensing process.

Dr. Attila Aszódi government commissioner informed the local and regional press representatives, the secondary school students of Dunaföldvár, and the residents of Paks, Szekszárd and surrounding settlements about the project’s actualities on 28 and 30 November.

Dr. Attila Aszódi, Government Commissioner for the maintenance of the performance of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant held a lecture regarding the actualities of the Paks II. project on 21 November 2016 for the strongly interested students of Széchenyi István University in Győr.

According to the European Commission’s decision, Hungary acted in accord with the EU’s public procurement requirements while signing the Hungarian-Russian intergovernmental agreement of establishing new Paks nuclear power plant units.

The establishment of the new nuclear power plant units reached another milestone, since on 27 October 2016 the project company submitted its site license application to the competent authority, the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority.

Baranya County Government Office, the competent authority of the environmental licensing process issued Paks II. project’s environmental license on 29 September 2016, which proves that the project fulfills the EU’s and Hungarian requirements of environmental protection and nature conservation.

The fieldwork of the new power plant units’ site investigation has ended in early August.

Dr. Attila Aszódi government commissioner for the maintenance of the performance of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant held a presentation at the Siófok conference of the Scientific Association for Energy Economics, during which he told Europe needs to create new electricity generating capacities in order for the power system to work safely. He also spoke about the actualities of the Paks II. project.

A conference called ’The scientific results of the new nuclear power plant units’ site investigation’ was held in the great hall of the Hungarian Academy Sciences on 6 May 2016 with more than 100 interested.

Dr. Attila Aszódi gave a public lecture at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in front of more than 200 interested about among others how stringent the nuclear safety requirements became.

The new monitoring network was constructed due to the Geological Research Program (part of the construction of the new units) detected the earthquake on Sumatra on 2 March 2016. The data of the five new monitoring stations can be found on the internet.

The Paks Social Council held its third session on 19 January 2016 in Paks. János Lázár, the cabinet minister announced during the event that the government will grant at least one billion HUF for development in the Paks area.

MVM Paks II. Ltd.’s interactive exhibition visited the 41 settlements in the near vicinity of the Paks NPP between 7 September and 18 December 2015.
