The visitors of the spring job fairs could receive information about the opportunities of the project company coordinating the construction of the two new NPP units at the unique stand of the Paks II. Ltd.

The new online tool of Foratom.org shares information about the carbon neutral electricity generation in the European Union, refreshed by daily data.

The gross domestic electricity consumption reached 45,66 TWh in 2019, which means a 0,53% growth compared to 2018.

In order to achieve the climate protection goals, we need nuclear power plants – declared president János Áder on Tuesday in Paks during his interactive lecture organized for local primary and secondary school students.

The two new NPP units designed for Paks will produce electricity CO2-free, in a great amount until the end of this century, helping Hungary achieve its climate protection goals – declared State Secretary Pál Kovács at the press conference held before the Science Week Introductory Professional Day, organized by the University of Dunaújváros.

The Paks II. project attended AtomEco international forum and exhibition, organized by Rosatom in Pécs. A press conference was held at the new stand of Paks II. Ltd. by minister János Süli, who told that nuclear energy and Paks II. project has an important role in climate protection.

The most modern units will be built within the Paks II. project in an international cooperation – said János Süli, minister without portfolio following the negotiation with the Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom in Paks. During the press conference, following the negotiation, Alexey Likhachev told that the project has more than 400 licenses already, and by the handover of the basic design documents, it has reached an important milestone.

The 2nd unit of Novovoronezh II Nuclear Power Plant started its commercial operation on 1 November 2019. This is the seventh NPP unit in Novovoronezh and the third operating reference NPP unit for Paks II.

Nuclear power plant operation engineer training has started in September at four universities as part of Paks II. Academy, while in Veszprém and Pécs the course is going to start in January 2020 in a cross semester.

10 years ago, in October 2009 the interactive information truck displaying the Paks II. project started its first country round-trip. During these years the mobile exhibition visited several hundred settlements in order to give information about nuclear energy and the new NPP units to the public. In the last decade the exhibit hosted almost 400.000 visitors.
