Dr. Attila Aszódi, State Secretary for the maintenance of the performance of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, presented the key role of the new nuclear power plant units in achieving climate protection goals that are in compliance with the strictest European legislation in Szekszárd and Budapest.

After the Economic and Hungarian Ethnicities Committees, members of the Committee on the Budget received direct information about the Paks II. project. János Süli minister, dr. Attila Aszódi state secretary, István Lenkei CEO and István Mittler communications director (Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd.) answered the parliamentarians’ questions.

A WANO communications workshop called „New Challenges in Nuclear Communications” was held in Paks in Erzsébet Grand Hotel between 13-17 November 2018, which was organized jointly by MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. and Paks II. Ltd. At the event, professionals from about a dozen countries have discussed new methods and challenges in nuclear communication.

The Committee of Hungary’s Ethnicities held an external session on 6 November 2018 in Paks, where János Süli, the minister of the Paks II. investment, István Lenkei, CEO of Paks II. Ltd. and István Mittler, Communications Director of the company briefed about the erection of the new nuclear power plant units.

The people living in the region of Paks were informed at the TEIT day held in the Paks Nuclear Power Plant about the results of the nuclear power plant and the Paks II. project, and the national practice of radioactive waste management.

Paks II. Ltd. pays special attention to the preservation of protected plant species beside the fauna of the site of the new nuclear power plant units and also of the site of the construction works. In line with the environmental and nature conservation regulations of the environmental license that came into force in 2017, having the necessary permits, the preservation of the species inhabiting the area is taken care of.

The Contractor of Paks II. published a tender appeal for the realization of the office buildings of the construction and erection base.

There is still a considerable interest in Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd.’s interactive truck. During the recently ended summer tour, about twenty thousand interested visited it at eight bigger Hungarian festivals. This year, until now, the traveling exhibition has attracted more than 40.000 visitors

Almost 43% was the share of import in June 2018, which is this year’s highest share, higher than last year – this was revealed from the data of MAVIR Hungarian Independent Transmission Operator Company Ltd.

János Süli welcomes the decision of the Court, where the General Court dismissed Austria’s case and approved the previous decision of the European Commission regarding the state aid of Hinkley Point C.

One of the tasks of the project company during the Paks II. project is to provide electricity for the Contractor for construction-installation works.

The new nuclear power plant units will be ready on time without any technical or safety compromises – said János Süli, the minister responsible for the Paks II. investment at the Parliament’s Economic Committee’s external meeting. Erik Bánki, president of the committee highlighted: the realization of the Paks II. project is a national economic interest, and the guarantee for the long-term, cheap supply of electricity.

At the external session of the Parliament’s Economic Committee in Paks János Süli, the minister responsible for the Paks II. project and his colleagues reported about the actualities of the investment, not only orally, but in writing as well. The interactive truck of Paks II. received the international professional jury’s approval at the Atomexpo Event in Sochi in May 2018 in PR category. The mobile exhibition displaying nuclear energy and the Paks II. project awaits the interested at 8 domestic festivals with interactive programs, games and relaxing opportunities.

The interactive truck of Paks II. visited the so-called City Day in Paks. At this grand event, dozens of Paks NGOs, institutions and companies were introduced, including Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd., which brought its mobile exhibition to Táncsics Park.

János Süli took his ministerial oath in the Parliament. The minister without portfolio responsible for the design, construction and installation of the two new nuclear power plant units of Paks continues his governmental work he started in May 2017.

Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. received a high degree of recognition: the company received a diploma in the Public Communication category at Atomexpo Awards finals.

The Paks II. project has a serious opportunity for the university students – emphasized dr. Attila Aszódi in Budapest, who held a lecture about the actualities at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

A national energy efficiency event was launched by the Energy Division of the Association of Management and Scientific Associations in collaboration with the National Federation of Social Associations. The first stage of the series was hosted by the city of Győr, with the Paks II. investment in the center of the conference.

The minister responsible for the Paks II. project and his state secretaries, MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd., Paks II. Ltd. and the Municipality of Paks had a joint meeting on 4 April 2018 in Paks about the Paks II. investment, and the cooperation in the joint development of the city and the region.
