The interactive information truck is a rolling exhibit that introduces visitors nuclear energy with interactive tools in a playful form. The vehicle is bringing home the knowledge of nuclear energy generation, safe and environmentally friendly use of nuclear energy, its leading role in domestic power generation, the Paks Nuclear Power Plant and the construction of new nuclear power plant units of the Paks II. project for those who cannot visit the Paks Information and Visitors’ Centre. The exhibition directly informs the public on nuclear energy and new units in residential environment and allows answers to the issues raised, dispelling any fears or doubts about nuclear energy. The truck is visiting the settlements, festivals, various events since 2009, in order for more and more people to get to know nuclear energy. The mobile exhibit hosted about 350.000 people since October 2009.

With renewed content in June 2017, the country tour started again. After attending eight major summer festivals, the exhibition passed last year to the settlements in the area of Hungarian nuclear facilities and to the site of waste storage sites (Püspökszilágy, Western-Mecsek, Bátaapáti and their surroundings), and by the end of the year, settlements of Northern Hungary with more than 5000 people (Nógrád, Heves and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén counties), then it travelled on towards Budapest.

The interactive truck visited during the summer of 2018 the VOLT Festival in Sopron (26-30 June), Balaton Sound in Zamárdi (4-8 July), EFOTT in Velence (10-15 July), Campus Festival in Debrecen (18-21 July). Following these, it’s travelled on to East Fest in Mezőtúr (24-28 July), Sziget in Budapest (8-14 August), the Debrecen Flower Carnival (17-20 August), and the summer festival roundtrip ended in Szeged at SZIN (22-25 August). In 2019 the interactive vehicle is going to visit the major settlements of Komárom-Esztergom, Fejér and Pest counties and 8 summer festivals.

Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. received a high degree of recognition: the company received a diploma in the Public Communication category at Atomexpo Awards finals. The recognition was received by Chief Executive Officer István Lenkei in Sochi, Russia on 14 May at one of the largest conferences and exhibitions in the nuclear industry, the tenth Atomexpo.



 

The visitors of the exhibition can gain information about nuclear energy, the currently operating 4 power plant units of the Paks NPP and the establishment of the 2 new Paks NPP units via interactive displays. The interested can gain info about the results of the project so far, the importance of the investment, and its social, economic and environmental effects. The guests can see countless photos of the mile stones and events of the Paks II. project. They can also gain knowledge about the 3+ gen. VVER-1200 power plant unit among others via short films, and they can have a virtual tour in a nuclear power plant, which is similar to the one designed for Paks. The visitors can check their new knowledge, if they receive an appropriate number of correct answers on the test machines, they’ll get a prize.

During the summer festivals, the exhibit extends with a tent next to the truck, the so-called „Energy Island”, where several fun activities with prizes await the visitors: QR-code searching game, scratch cards, wheel of fortune, etc.
